And indeed, We delivered the children of Israel from the shameful suffering 30 from Pharaoh, who ranked high in sin, 31 And certainly We chose them, having knowledge, above the nations. 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 Bring then our fathers if ye say so. 36 Are these better or the people of Tubba and those who went before them? We destroyed them for they were a criminal people. 37 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, merely in (idle) sport: 38 none of this have We created without [an inner] truth: but most of them understand it not. 39 The appointed time for all of them will be the Day of Judgment 40 the day a master shall avail nothing a client, and they shall not be helped, 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42
