Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 5 and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! 19 Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 in a lofty paradise, 22 Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 My wealth has not availed me, 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 nor any food save the filth 36 Which none but the wrongdoers eat. 37
