Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Verily We! We sent Nuh unto his people saying: warn thy people ere there come unto them torment afflictive. 1 Noah said, "My people, I am warning you plainly. 2 That you should serve Allah and be careful of (your duty to) Him and obey me: 3 "He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allah when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but knew." 4 He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day 5 And my calling hath only increased them in fleeing. 6 And verily so oft as I call them, that Thou mayest forgive them, they place their fingers into their ears, and wrap themselves with their garments, and persist, and are stiff-necked. 7 Then I invited them publicly. 8 and indeed, I spoke to them both publicly and in secret: 9 "Ask for forgiveness of your Lord," I said. "Surely, He is the Forgiver. 10 He will send you abundant rain from the sky, 11 ‘And will aid you with wealth and sons, and will create gardens for you and cause rivers to flow for you.’ 12 What is [the matter] with you that you do not attribute to Allah [due] grandeur 13 Knowing that He has created you by various stages? 14 Behold ye not in what wise Allah hath created seven heavens in storeys. 15 And hath made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 how God has produced you from the earth and caused you to grow, 17 He will then return you back to it, and bring you out again. 18 God has spread out the earth 19 That of it ye may traverse the ways open. 20
