Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
