۞ And when the son of Mary is cited as an example, behold, thy people turn away from it 57 And say: "Are our aliha (gods) better or is he ['Iesa (Jesus)]?" They quoted not the above example except for argument. Nay! But they are a quarrelsome people. [(See VV. 21:97-101) - The Quran.] 58 [As for Jesus,] he was nothing but [a human being] a servant [of Ours] whom We had graced [with prophethood,] and whom We made an example for the children of Israel. 59 Had it been Our Will We would have made angels among you as successors in the earth. 60 And lo! verily there is knowledge of the Hour. So doubt ye not concerning it, but follow Me. This is the right path. 61 and do not let satan prevent you, for he is your clear enemy. 62 And when 'Iesa (Jesus) came with (Our) clear Proofs, he said: "I have come to you with Al-Hikmah (Prophethood), and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) in which you differ, therefore fear Allah and obey me, 63 Verily Allah! He is my lord and your Lord, so worship Him: this is the straight path. 64 The various factions among them differed -- woe then to those who did wrong: they will suffer the punishment of a painful Day. 65 Are they merely waiting for the Hour, which will come upon them suddenly and take them unawares? 66 Close friends will turn into enemies of one another on that Day, except the pious. 67
