Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
