The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
