Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

I CALL TO witness the early hours of morning, 1 and by the night when it covers the world with peace: 2 Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]. 3 And the Hereafter is indeed better unto thee than the life present. 4 Verily your Lord will soon give you so amply that you will be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and take care of you? 6 Did He not find you unaware of the Right Way, and then directed you to it? 7 And He found thee destitute, so He enriched thee. 8 Do not oppress the orphan, 9 nor drive away the one who asks. 10 And as for the favor of your Lord, do announce (it). 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
