The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 Created man from an embryo; 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, verily, man becomes grossly overweening 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 Or enjoins piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.

Notes and Instructions
توجد تمارين تحفيظ للوضعين العربي الأصلي والعربي المخطوط بأحرف إنجليزية فقط. ولا تحتوي الترجمة الإنجليزية على تمارين حفظ.
There are memorization exercises for the original Arabic and English transliterated Arabic modes only. The English translation mode has no memorization exercises.
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
