The dwellers in El-Hijr cried lies to the Envoys. 80 And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them. 81 And they were hewing out houses from mountains feeling secure. 82 Then the shout took hold of them in the early morn. 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between the two in accordance with the requirements of truth and wisdom. The Hour is surely coming. So overlook [their faults] with gracious forgiveness. 85 verily, thy Sustainer is the all-knowing Creator of all things! 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 Do not stretch your eyes to that We have given pairs of them to enjoy, nor sorrow for them, and lower your wing to the believers. 88 And say: "I am a distinct warner," 89 (Of just such wrath) as We sent down on those who divided (Scripture into arbitrary parts),- 90 Those who break the Qur'an into parts. 91 So, by your Lord, We would most certainly question them all, 92 about what they did. 93 Proclaim openly what you are commanded, and avoid the polytheists. 94 Verily We will suffice unto thee against the mockers. 95 Who set up along with Allah another ilah (god), they will come to know. 96 And indeed We know that you are disheartened by their speech. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is Certain. 99
