The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 who avoid impious talks, 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 And who guard their prayers. 9 Such are the inheritors 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 We created man from an essence of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging; 13 We then turned the drop of fluid into a clot of blood, then the clot into a small lump of flesh, then the lump into bones, then covered the bones with flesh; then developed it in a different mould; therefore Most Auspicious is Allah, the Best Creator. 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 then on the Day of Resurrection you shall surely be raised up. 16 And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware. 17 And We sent down out of heaven water in measure and lodged it in the earth; and We are able to take it away. 18 We grow orchards of dates and grapes from it for you, Which yield fruits in abundance that you eat. 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
