۞ And those who fear not the meeting with Us say: wherefore are not angels sent down unto us or wherefore we see not our Lord! Assuredly they have proven stiff-necked in their souls and have exceeded the bounds with excess great. 21 On the day when the criminals see the angels, there will, certainly, be no rejoicing for them. Rather, they will plead to the angels, "Please keep away from us (do not drive us into hell)." 22 Then We shall turn to what they had done and render it vain like scattered dust. 23 The inmates of Paradise will have a better abode that day, and a better resting place. 24 And on the Day on which the skies, together with the clouds, shall burst asunder, and the angels are made to descend in a mighty descent 25 The real sovereignty will belong to Ar-Rahman. How grievous will be the day for the infidels! 26 And the Day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, "Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way. 27 Ah! woe unto me! Would that I had never taken such a one for a friend! 28 He led me away from the true guidance after it had come to us. Satan is a traitor to people." 29 The Messenger says, 'O my Lord, behold, my people have taken this Koran as a thing to be shunned.' 30 Even so We have appointed to every Prophet an enemy among the sinners; but thy Lord suffices as a guide and as a helper. 31 Those who reject Faith say: "Why is not the Qur'an revealed to him all at once? Thus (is it revealed), that We may strengthen thy heart thereby, and We have rehearsed it to thee in slow, well-arranged stages, gradually. 32 We will support you with the Truth and the best interpretation whenever the infidels argue against you. 33 Those who will be driven headlong into hell will have a terrible dwelling; they have certainly gone astray. 34
