In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the loosed ones successively 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 for an appointed time? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
