The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
