Can someone to whom We have made a gracious promise and who will see it fulfilled, be compared to someone We have allowed to enjoy a worldly life, awhile, and who will be brought up [before God] for his accounting on the Day of Resurrection? 61 (Let them not forget) that the Day when Allah will call unto them, and say: "Where are those whom you imagined to be My associates?" 62 Those against whom the charge will be proved, will say: "Our Lord! These are the ones whom we led astray: we led them astray, as we were astray ourselves: we free ourselves (from them) in Thy presence: it was not us they worshipped." 63 It will be said (to them): "Call upon your 'partners' (for help)": they will call upon them, but they will not listen to them; and they will see the Penalty (before them); (how they will wish) 'if only they had been open to guidance!' 64 And on the day when He shall call them and say: What was the answer you gave to the apostles? 65 Then all news will be blacked out for them, and they will not even ask one another. 66 But, as for he who repents and believes, and does good deeds, he will be among those who prosper. 67 And your Lord creates whatsoever He wills and chooses, no choice have they (in any matter). Glorified be Allah, and exalted above all that they associate as partners (with Him). 68 And your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they declare. 69 And He is Allah, there is no god but He! All praise is due to Him in this (life) and the hereafter, and His is the judgment, and to Him you shall be brought back. 70 Say, "Have you considered: if Allah should make for you the night continuous until the Day of Resurrection, what deity other than Allah could bring you light? Then will you not hear?" 71 Say, "Do you not think that if God were to cause the day to continue until the Day of Judgment, which Lord besides Him could bring you the night to rest. Do you not see (His signs)?" 72 Of His mercy He has appointed for you night and day, for you to repose in and seek after His bounty, that haply you will be thankful.' 73 And on the Day He shall call out to them and say, "Where are those whom you alleged were My partners." 74 And We will extract from every nation a witness and say, "Produce your proof," and they will know that the truth belongs to Allah, and lost from them is that which they used to invent. 75
