We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 Since the two scribes are sitting on each of his shoulders, he does not utter a word which is not recorded immediately by the watchful scribes. 17 not a word he utters, but by him is an observer ready. 18 And the stupor of death will bring Truth (before his eyes): "This was the thing which thou wast trying to escape!" 19 And the Trumpet shall be blown: that will be the Day whereof Warning (had been given). 20 Each person will arrive attended by an [angel] to drive him on and another to bear witness. 21 'Thou wast heedless of this; therefore We have now removed from thee thy covering, and so thy sight today is piercing.' 22 And his companion will say: 'This is that which I have present' 23 'Cast, you twain, into Gehenna every froward unbeliever, 24 every hinderer of the good, transgressor, disquieter, 25 Who made [as equal] with Allah another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment." 26 ۞ His companion will say: O our Lord! caused him not to transgress but he was himself in error far off. 27 (It was said): “Do not remonstrate in My presence. I had warned you. 28 The judgment passed by Me shall not be altered; but never do I do the least wrong unto My creatures!" 29
