The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Hath there come upon man (ever) any period of time in which he was a thing unremembered? 1 Verily, We have created man from Nutfah drops of mixed semen (discharge of man and woman), in order to try him, so We made him hearer, seer. 2 We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful. 3 Indeed, for the unbelievers We have prepared chains, fetters and a Blazing (Fire). 4 the righteous shall drink from a cup mixed with the coolness of kafur, 5 a fountain whereat drink the servants of God, making it to gush forth plenteously. 6 (Because) they perform the vow and fear a day whereof the evil is wide-spreading, 7 And out of His love, they give food to the needy, the orphan and the prisoner. 8 "We only feed you for the sake of God and we do not want any reward or thanks from you. 9 Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful." 10 So Allah shall guard them against the woe of that Day, and will procure them freshness and joy, 11 And gave them Paradise and silk clothes, as a reward for their patience. 12 There they will recline on elevated couches and will be subjected neither to the burning heat of the sun nor to bitter cold. 13 And close down upon them (shall be) its shadows, and its fruits shall be made near (to them), being easy to reach. 14 Goblets of silver are brought round for them, and beakers (as) of glass 15 Crystal-clear, made of silver: they will determine the measure thereof (according to their wishes). 16 And they will be given to drink there a cup (of wine) mixed with Zanjabil (ginger, etc.), 17 Which is a spring in Paradise called Salsabeel. 18 ۞ And round about them will (serve) boys of everlasting youth. If you see them, you would think them scattered pearls. 19 And when you see there, you shall see blessings and a great kingdom. 20 In it they adorn clothes of fine green silk and gold embroidery; and they are given silver bracelets to wear; and their Lord gave them pure wine to drink. 21 'See, this is your recompense, your striving is thanked' 22
