Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, may he be ruined. 1 His wealth did not avail him, nor his acquisitions. 2 He will soon enter the flaming fire. 3 And his wife [as well] - the carrier of firewood. 4 In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). 5

God the Almighty always says the truth.
