AND [thus it is:] We have not created heaven and earth and all that is between them without meaning and purpose, as is the surmise of those who are bent on denying the truth: but then, woe from the fire [of hell] unto all who are bent on denying the truth! 27 Shall We then treat alike those that believe and act righteously and those that create mischief on earth? Or treat alike the God-fearing and the wicked? 28 (This is) a Book (the Quran) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember. 29 And to David We gave Solomon. An excellent servant, indeed he was one repeatedly turning back [to Allah]. 30 When there were brought to him in the evening (horses) still when standing, swift when running-- 31 he said, 'Lo, I have loved the love of good things better than the remembrance of my Lord, until the sun was bidden behind the veil. 32 (Then he said): Bring them back to me, and fell to slashing (with his sword their) legs and necks. 33 We surely tried Solomon, and placed another body on his throne. So he turned to God 34 He said, "My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower." 35 Then We subjected to him the wind: it ran gently by his command withersoever he directed. 36 and also the jinn, every kind of builder and diver 37 and others that were bound with chains. 38 'This is Our gift, give or withhold without reckoning' 39 And he enjoyed, indeed, a Near Approach to Us, and a beautiful Place of (Final) Return. 40
