Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ha-Mim. 1 By the Book that makes things clear,- 2 We have made it an Arabic Quran so that you may understand. 3 And Lo! in the Source of Decrees, which We possess, it is indeed sublime, decisive. 4 What! shall We then turn away the reminder from you altogether because you are an extravagant people? 5 And how many a prophet We sent among the former peoples, 6 And not a prophet came unto them but him they were wont to mock. 7 Then We destroyed men mightier than these in prowess; and the example of the men of old hath gone (before them). 8 If you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?", they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All Knowing One has created them." 9 Who has made the earth a cradle for you and made thereon paths for you so that, hopefully, you may find your way 10 And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth - 11 it is He who created all living things in pairs and gave you ships to sail in and beasts to ride upon 12 so that perhaps when you ride them, you will recall the bounties of your Lord and when you establish your control over it you would say, "Glory belongs to Him who has made it subservient to us when we would not have been able to do so ourselves. 13 “And indeed we have to return to our Lord.” 14 But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful. 15
