and We saved the Children of Israel from a humiliating punishment 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge above the nations (of their time). 32 And granted them signs in which there was a plain trial. 33 Indeed these disbelievers proclaim; – 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our ancestors back, if you are truthful." 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals. 37 We created not the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, in play; 38 We created them not save with a purpose but most of them know not. 39 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all - 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
