The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
THE LAST HOUR draws near, and the moon is split asunder! 1 And when they see a sign, they turn away and say, “Just a customary magic!” 2 They reject (the warning) and follow their (own) lusts but every matter has its appointed time. 3 And certainly some narratives have come to them wherein is prevention-- 4 which are full of wisdom; but the warnings do not help. 5 Wherefore withdrew thou from them. The Day whereon the summoner will summon mankind unto a thing unpleasant. 6 They will come out of the graves with downcast eyes like an expanding swarm of locusts. 7 Hastening to the inviter. The unbelievers shall say: This is a hard day. 8 ۞ The people of Noah, who lived before them, had also rejected (Our guidance). They rejected Our servant and said, "He is an insane person so let us drive him away". 9 Then he called on his Lord: "I am one overcome: do Thou then help (me)!" 10 Then We opened the portals of heaven with water poured out. 11 and caused the earth to gush with springs, so that the waters met for a predestined matter. 12 And We bore him upon a well-planked vessel well-caulked 13 Moving forward under Our eyes: a requital for him who had been rejected. 14 And indeed, We have left this as a sign, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 15 How (great) was then My punishment and My warning! 16 We have made the Quran easy to understand, but is there anyone who would pay attention? 17 The people of 'Ad too rejected the truth. How terrible was My punishment and My warning. 18 Verily We! We sent against them a raging wind on a day of calamity continuous. 19 It swept people away as if they were trunks of uprooted palm trees. 20 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 21 But We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 22

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
