The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wound up; 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
