Al-Infitaar

Shattering (Al-Infitaar)

19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

۞ When the Sky is cleft asunder; 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 And when the seas are flowed out, 3 And the sepulchres are overturned, 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one, 6 Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 Generous and recording, 11 They know what you do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 And will not be able to hide from it. 16 They will never be able to escape from it. Would that you knew what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again, what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19
