The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 taught the human what he did not know. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen him who forbids 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
