And indeed Nooh prayed to Us – so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are! 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 Surely he was one of Our truly believing servants. 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds' 87 Then did he cast a glance at the Stars. 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 So they turned away from him, and departed (for fear of the disease). 90 Then he turned to their aliha (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 the while it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 And when he attained the age of running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
