Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 from a discharged living germ 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 And you are lost in play! 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
