The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 Arise and deliver thy warning! 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 And your garments purify! 4 shun uncleanness; 5 Do not give, thinking to gain greater 6 Exercise patience to please your Lord. 7 When the Horn is blown, 8 that shall be a Harsh Day 9 Far from easy for the disbelievers. 10 Leave him to Me, the one whom I created single. 11 To whom I granted resources in abundance, 12 and sons that stand in witness. 13 To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable! 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give him even more! 15 By no means! surely he offers opposition to Our communications. 16 On him I shall impose a fearful doom. 17 Surely he reflected and guessed, 18 and thus he destroys himself, the way he meditates: 19 Again, may he be cursed how he plotted; 20 He looked (at others); 21 then he frowned, and scowled, 22 then turned back, and swelling-up with pride, 23 And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. 24 This is not but the word of a human being." 25 I will cast him into hell. 26 What will let you know what the Scorching is like! 27 It neither leaves, nor spares. 28 scorching the flesh; 29 Above it are nineteen. 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
