Thorns (Al-Masad)
5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he! 1 His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! 2 He will [enter to] burn in a Fire of [blazing] flame 3 His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!- 4 A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck! 5
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
