The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Compassionate. 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
