Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 storming tempestuously 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 Till a limit known? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 as black camels. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
