The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 About the great news - 2 concerning which they have disputes. 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 Nay! Nay! they shall soon know. 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 and created you in pairs (as men and women), 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Lo! hell lurketh in ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement. 30
