Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And the stars dispersed, 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 and when graves are laid open, 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O man! What has deceived you away from your Lord, the Most Beneficent? 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 Honorable recorders, 11 who know all that you do: 12 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous: will indeed be in bliss, 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment, 15 and from which they will find no escape. 16 And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 Again, what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
