And recite to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham). 69 Behold, he said to his father and his people: "What worship ye?" 70 They said, “We worship idols, and we keep squatting in seclusion before them.” 71 He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" 72 Do they help or harm you?" 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 Said [Abraham]: "Have you, then, ever considered what it is that you have been worshipping 75 "You and your ancient fathers? 76 Lo! they are (all) an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the Worlds, 77 who has created me and is the One who guides me, 78 And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: 79 "And when I am ill, it is He who cures me. 80 He who will cause me to die and bring me back to life; 81 and He who will, I hope, forgive me my faults on the Day of the Judgement. 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray; 86 “And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised.” 87 the Day when nothing will avail, neither wealth nor offspring, 88 except for him who comes to God with a pure heart. 89 Paradise will be brought near those who take heed for themselves and follow the straight path; 90 whereas the blazing fire will be laid open before those who had been lost in grievous error; 91 And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship 92 “Instead of Allah? Will they help you or retaliate?” 93 Then they shall be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 And all the armies of Iblis. (Satan) 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 It was naught but the sinners that led us astray; 99 So we have no intercessors, 100 and no sincere friend. 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
