Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 Why do you go for males unlike all other creatures 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
