And a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat. 33 We have laid out gardens of dates and grapes upon it, and made springs of water flow, 34 That they may eat of His fruit. And their hands have not produced it, so will they not be grateful? 35 Hallowed be He who hath created all the pairs of that which the earth groweth, and of themselves and of that which they know not! 36 A token unto them is night. We strip it of the day, and lo! they are in darkness. 37 how the sun moves in its orbit and this is the decree of the Majestic and All-knowing God; 38 And the Moon,- We have measured for her mansions (to traverse) till she returns like the old (and withered) lower part of a date-stalk. 39 It is not allowable for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming. 40 And a sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark (of Noah). 41 And have created for them of the like thereof whereon they ride. 42 We could have drowned them if We pleased, and none would have answered their cry for help, nor would they have been saved, 43 except Our mercy which could enable them to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 44 When it is said unto them: Beware of that which is before you and that which is behind you, that haply ye may find mercy (they are heedless). 45 and no message of their Sustainer's messages ever reaches them without their turning away from it. 46 And when it is said to them: Spend out of what Allah has given you, those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Shall we feed him whom, if Allah please, He could feed? You are in naught but clear error. 47 And they say: "When will this promise come to pass, if what you say is true?" 48 They must be waiting for but one single blast, which will overtake them while they are still disputing. 49 then they will not be able to make any testament, nor will they return to their people. 50
