Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
HA MIM. 1 A sending down from the Merciful, the Most Merciful. 2 A Book, the verses of which are distinguished, an Arabic Koran for a nation who know. 3 Announcing happy news and warnings. And yet most of them are averse and do not listen, 4 And they say: Our hearts are protected from that unto which thou (O Muhammad) callest us, and in our ears there is a deafness, and between us and thee there is a veil. Act, then. Lo! we also shall be acting. 5 Say, O [Muhammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allah - 6 Those who do not give the obligatory charity, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never fail. 8
