The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 And leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are froward folk. 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 'My Lord, save me and my people from that they are doing' 169 We saved him and all of his family 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
