The dwellers of the forest also rejected the Messengers. 176 Shu'ayb asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 177 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 178 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 179 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ "Give full measure, and cause no loss (to others). 181 "And weigh with the true and straight balance. 182 and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption, 183 And guard against (the punishment of) Him who created you and the former nations. 184 They said, "You are only of those affected by magic. 185 You are but a human like ourselves, we think that you are one of the liars. 186 "So cause a piece of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!" 187 He said: My Lord is Best Aware of what ye do. 188 And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day. 189 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 Yet verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 191
