The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Praise be to God. He has sent the Book to His servant and has made it a flawless guide (for human beings) 1 right, to warn of great violence from Him, and to give good tidings unto the believers, who do righteous deeds, that theirs shall be a goodly wage 2 therein to abide for ever, 3 And to warn those who say: Allah hath chosen a son, 4 a thing about which they have no knowledge, neither they nor their ancestors. Dreadful is the word that comes out of their mouths. What they utter is merely a lie. 5 (O Muhammad), if they do not believe in this Message, you will perhaps torment yourself to death with grief, sorrowing over them. 6 We have made whatever exists on the earth its adornment to test and try them (and) know who acts better; 7 Verily what is on earth we shall make but as dust and dry soil (without growth or herbage). 8 Or dost thou think the Men of the Cave and Er-Rakeem were among Our signs a wonder? 9 When the youth sought refuge in the cave they prayed "Lord, grant us mercy and help us to get out of this trouble in a righteous way". 10 For many years We sealed up their hearing in the Cave, 11 and then roused them so that We might see which of the two parties could best tell the length of their stay. 12
