The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
