And indeed Nooh prayed to Us so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are! 75 And We saved him and his household from the great distress, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 Verily, thus We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 We then drowned the others. 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 When he said to his father (paternal uncle) and his people, “What do you worship?” 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 So they went away from him, turning back. 90 Thereupon he approached their gods stealthily and said, "What! You do not eat [of the offerings placed before you]? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 Abraham said: “I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 Wherefore We gave him the glad tidings of a boy gentle. 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 So We ransomed him for a great sacrifice, 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 for he was truly one of our believing servants. 111 We gave him the glad news of the birth of Isaac, one of the righteous Prophets. 112 We blessed him and Isaac: but of their progeny are (some) that do right, and (some) that obviously do wrong, to their own souls. 113
