The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 About the great news - 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 and the night as a cover, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 tasting neither coolness nor any drink 24 save boiling water and wash of the wounds; 25 Requital corresponding. 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
