The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
