In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ya Sin. 1 By oath of the wise Qur’an. 2 Lo! thou art of those sent 3 on a Straight Way, 4 (and this Qur'an) is a revelation from the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate 5 so that you may warn a people whose fathers were not warned and so they are unaware. 6 Undoubtedly, it (their disbelief) has proved true for most of them, so they will not believe. 7 We have indeed put shackles around their necks reaching up to the chins, so they remain facing upwards. 8 and We have put before them a barrier and behind them a barrier; and We have covered them, so they do not see. 9 The same is it to them whether thou admonish them or thou do not admonish them: they will not believe. 10 You can warn only him who follows the Admonition and fears the Merciful Lord without seeing Him. Give such a one good tidings of forgiveness and a generous reward. 11 Lo! We it is Who bring the dead to life. We record that which they send before (them, and their footprints. And all things We have kept in a clear Register. 12

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
