(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62
