▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay! By the moon 32 by the retreating night, 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 it is a warning to man, 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 Of evil-doers: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They said, "We never used to offer the prayer." 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 "And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly." 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 until death approached us". 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
