Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
