The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and gently take it away; 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And those who govern the event, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
