And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 We saved him and his people from great distress, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds' 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars (to deceive them), 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 But they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Thereupon he approached their gods stealthily and said, "What! You do not eat [of the offerings placed before you]? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve 95 while it is Allah Who has created you and all that you make?” 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 So they plotted a plot against him, but We made them the lowest. 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 Thus, do We reward the righteous ones. 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. 113
